Wishing Crow Necklace
“I HAVE LOVED THE STARS TOO FONDLY TO BE FEARFUL OF THE NIGHT”
Sterling silver crow necklace.
Deeply etched with the silhouette of a crow perched amongst the stars, this piece has been darkly oxidised and brushed to highlight all the details, and then given a gentle polish for a subtle shine. It has a wonderfully tactile feel, and hangs from a lightly oxidised sterling silver chain, in your chosen length. All loops are soldered for strength. This organic sterling crow pendant measures approximately 3/4″ in diameter.
Let this totem crow necklace be your own personal guardian. May it act as a talisman for hope and courage; a reminder that even though sometimes the dark might seem overwhelming, the stars are just waiting to shine their light on you. Be brave, wish upon the stars, make your dreams happen.
I am fortunate to have several friendly crows living nearby, who are always happy to see me and accept the occasional peanut. This is my homage to them, my feathered friends.
There is a wealth of mythology surrounding crows in numerous cultures. For the ancient Greeks, the crow was a symbol of Apollo in his role as god of prophecy; a symbol of good luck and communication. In some cultures, seeing a crow means hope for the future and that the heart’s true wishes will be fulfilled, while some Native American cultures see the crow as a wise adviser and protector.
Please note, each piece is individually hand-forged by me. No machine processes, just two hands, traditional tools and a whole lot of love. There may therefore be very slight differences in each piece, but this means that your crow, in some small way, will be entirely unique to you.
Part of my “Wild Earth” collection, a celebration of the natural world, its landscapes and wild inhabitants. These pieces are created as a reminder that there is no better designer than Nature, and to find enough beauty to fill the soul, we need only look around us.
Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.
I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.
Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
