Silver Crow Necklace
“HOPE IS THE THING WITH FEATHERS THAT PERCHES IN THE SOUL”
Sterling silver crow necklace.
I am fortunate to have several friendly crows living nearby, who are always happy to see me and accept the occasional peanut. This is my homage to them, my feathered friends.
This organic sterling crow pendant measures 7/8″ in diameter. Deeply etched with the silhouette of a crow perched in a tree, it has been darkly oxidised and brushed to highlight all the details, and then given a gently polish for a subtle shine. It has a wonderfully tactile feel, and hangs from a lightly oxidised sterling silver chain, in your chosen length. All loops are soldered for strength.
There is a wealth of mythology surrounding crows in numerous cultures. For the ancient Greeks, the crow was a symbol of Apollo in his role as god of prophecy; a symbol of good luck and communication. In some cultures, seeing a crow means hope for the future and that the heart’s true wishes will be fulfilled, while some Native American cultures see the crow as a wise adviser and protector.
Let this totem crow necklace be your own personal guardian. May it act as a talisman for hope and good fortune, and imbue you with the confidence to spread your wings and soar.
Please note, each piece is individually hand-forged by me. No machine processes, just two hands, traditional tools and a whole lot of love. There may therefore be very slight differences in each piece (as seen in the last photo), but this means that your crow will, in some small way, be unique to you.
Part of my “Wild Earth” collection, a celebration of the natural world, its landscapes and wild inhabitants. These pieces are created as a reminder that there is no better designer than Nature, and to find enough beauty to fill the soul, we need only look around us.
Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.
I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.
Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
