Sacred Hand Print Necklace

“I AM HERE. I AM PRESENT.”

Rustic sterling silver and copper petroglyph ‘sacred hand’ pendant, on an oxidised sterling silver chain.

The pendant measures approximately 1 1/8″ long. The sterling silver has been subtly textured to resemble rock, and the imprint of a petroglyph ‘sacred hand’ print is etched deeply into the copper layer. The whole piece has been lightly oxidised, hammered and distressed for an aged, ancient look. This is a wonderfully tactile piece, and hangs from a sturdy oxidised sterling silver chain. Perfectly unisex.

Hand prints are one of the most common petroglyphs, and are found at petroglyph sites around the world. They were used as a way for a person to say “I am here” and to leave a part of their spirit and presence at a particular place. Hands with a spiral detail are believed by many to denote healing and protection.

The perfect necklace to wear as a constant reminder of being in the ‘now’, rather than dwelling on the past, or concentrating too much on the future. Be present.

As every piece is individually made by hand, there may be very slight differences in forging, which will make yours, in some small way, unique to you.

Part of my “Warriors & Relics” collection, inspired by ancient petroglyphs, talismans and totems. Elegant yet rugged pieces that could have been forged in fires thousands of years ago and only recently unearthed. These pieces represent strength and endurance, not just in the physical realm, but an inner strength to keep you focused forward to where you need to be.

Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.

I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.

Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
