Sterling Silver & Ancient Bronze Hoop Earrings

Organic sterling silver and ancient bronze mixed metal hoop earrings.
Sterling silver large hoops, with smaller ancient bronze loops nestled inside. Hammered and distressed for an organic, rustic feel, then gently polished to bring out the shine, they hang from hand-forged sterling ear wires and sway gently with your movement. Light to wear, but substantial to look at, these organic beauties measure approximately 2 3/4″ from top to bottom (the diameter of the large silver hoops is 1 3/4″).
I love the warm rosy tones of bronze against the cool silver. Light yet strong, perfect to wear every day to remind you to breathe cool, calm breaths, and to hold on to the things, and people, that warm you.
Part of my “Circles & Coins” collection. The circular shape represents my continuous movement between home and the far off places I love, and how both these elements of my life make me whole.
The use of bronze in jewellery goes back as far as recorded history allows us to look. It inspired a whole age named after it. Strong and hard-wearing, it has a wonderful pinkish glow that reminds me of rose gold, only more durable. It is one of my favourite metals to work with.

Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
