Copper Gasket Necklace
“OH, THE PLACES YOU’LL GO.”
This masculine hammered copper necklace has an interesting history. The 1″ solid copper pendant is actually a repurposed old copper spark plug gasket from an aircraft engine. Cleaned and smoothed, it has then been hammered and distressed for a rustic finish, before being oxidised and polished to highlight all the detailing. Set on a 20″ chunky oxidised sterling silver chain, it’s the perfect gift for anyone with a passion for aircraft, aviation or travel.
These are limited in quantity, as the gaskets come to me straight off planes from our local airport in Inverness, Scotland. (No planes were harmed in the making of this necklace!)
The prefect piece for your favourite plane spotter, or anyone wanting a necklace with a rugged edge and a story to tell. Who knows how many places your pendant has seen? Wear it as a reminder to get out there while you can. Explore, dream, discover…..
Part of my “Circles & Coins” collection. The circular shape represents my continuous movement between home and the far off places I love, and how both these elements of my life make me whole.
Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.
I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.
Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
