Silver Tree Bark Necklace
“INTO THE FOREST I GO, TO LOSE MY WORRIES AND FIND MY SOUL”
Inspired by long walks in my favourite woods, this long sterling silver necklace has been carefully textured to resemble the individualistic beauty of tree bark.
The sterling silver pendant, including loop section, measures approximately 1.5″ long. Entirely hand-forged, it has been selectively textured, lightly oxidised to highlight the detailing, brushed and then lightly polished for just the right amount of shine. Rustic and earthy, yet elegant at the same time. This is a substantial piece, and hangs from a lightly oxidised 28″ sterling silver chain. At this length, and with no clasp, it can be easily put on over the head – perfect for when you’re in a hurry. All loops have been soldered closed for strength and durability. Perfectly unisex, equally befitting man or woman.
Take the beauty of nature with you, wherever you go. A daily reminder to keep your eyes on the forest, not on the trees.
Each piece is individually hand-forged by me. Two hands, traditional tools and a whole lot of love. There may therefore be very slight differences in forging, but this means that yours, in some small way, will be entirely unique.
Part of my “Organics & Textures” collection, inspired by the natural world and the shapes and textures we see around us every day. Tree bark under the hand, sandstone underfoot, patterns on a leaf catching the eye. These pieces represent an emotional connectedness to the natural world. We evolved in nature, it is in our DNA. As busy lives force us to spend less time in it, it is important to carry a reminder of what majesty is out there waiting for us.
Designed and lovingly created in my studio in Moray, Scotland.
I work in sterling silver, ancient bronze, copper and brass, with natural semi-precious gemstones. I make pieces which are perfect for layering together, mixing and matching, so you can grow your collection and choose your pieces according to your mood, or the inspiration you want to gain that day.
Each piece is unique. Whilst I may create similar pieces, as every piece is made individually by hand, no two will ever be the same. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office for precious metal work.
