Sterling silver mixed metal raven pendant.
Organic sterling silver and golden brass raven pendant. The golden raven flies towards the fiery silver sun, its wings outstretched in freedom.
Hammered and distressed for an ancient feel, the piece was then oxidised and brushed to highlight all the details, before being given a final polish for a subtle shine. It has a wonderfully tactile, joyful feel, and hangs from a chunky oxidised sterling silver chain, in your chosen length. Pendant loops are soldered closed for strength and durability.
The circular piece measures just over 1.25″ in diameter, and 1.5″ across the raven’s wingspan.
Whilst I love all our feathered friends, corvids are my favourite birds. There is a wealth of mythology surrounding ravens in numerous cultures. Native Americans see the raven as a symbol of transformation, associated with the creation of the world and the gift of sunlight to mankind. In the Hebrew Talmud, ravens are credited with teaching mankind how to deal with grief. In Welsh folklore, the raven was seen as a guardian of Britain. The presence of ravens at the Tower of London is an echo of this legend, and the prophecy says that if the ravens ever leave the tower, Britain will fall.
Let this raven talisman be your own personal guardian. May it bring sunlight to you when clouds threaten, and may it always remind you to never let anything, or anyone, hold you back from your dreams.
Please note, each piece is individually hand-forged by me. Just two hands, traditional tools and a whole lot of love. There may therefore be very slight differences in each piece, but this means that your raven will, in some small way, be unique to you.
