Silver Wood Grain Necklace
This simple sterling silver pendant has a beautiful wood grain texture. I love how the passage of time and the change of seasons can be seen in the grain of a tree. This pendant is a snapshot of time, a nature talisman reminding you to accept and embrace change, and to stay aware that time is finite and should be lived to the full. Make every day matter.
The pendant measures 1 & 3/8″ long. It has been given a distressed hammered finish, oxidised to highlight all the detailing, then polished for just the right amount of shine. Loops are soldered for strength. It has a wonderfully tactile feel, and hangs from a lightly oxidised 20″ sterling silver elongated chain.
Part of my “Organics & Textures” collection, inspired by the natural world and the shapes and textures we see around us every day. Tree bark under the hand, sandstone underfoot, patterns on a leaf catching the eye. These pieces represent an emotional connectedness to the natural world. We evolved in nature, it is in our DNA. As busy lives force us to spend less time in it, it is important to carry a reminder of what majesty is out there waiting for us.
